Alfa Laval is a global leader and supplier of premium products for heat transfer, separation and flow equipment. The Swedish-based company, which was established in 1991 as a 100% foreign-owned limited company affiliated to its headquarters in Çamlıca, Istanbul, moved to the campus in Istanbul Samandıra in 2009.
The Alfa Laval Service center, located in the same building as the sales operations, was illuminated by high ceiling fixtures with a 400W metal halide light source. These luminaires with reduced light life and low efficiency were insufficient to provide the level of illumination required by the area.
Service box areas used at certain times of the day were also illuminated by street luminaires with similar light sources. Due to the delay in the working principle of the metal halide bulb when it needed to be used, the products could not meet the instant light need.
On the other hand, waterproof luminaires with fluorescent light source used in service washing areas had reduced lamp life, differences in light kelvin values, and corrosion due to water intake from some products.
As Moonenlight, after we determined the deficiencies in the field of light, we listened to the complaints of the workers and conveyed our optimal solution proposal to the company. We achieved the required level of illumination on the floor by using Philips‘ BY698P coded high ceiling products with wide angle without changing the ceiling energy supply points in the service area. Service Box areas have been updated with Philips BRP131 led street luminaires. Service washing areas are illuminated by using Philips T8 led tubes with high lumen value inside waterproof enclosures with IP65 protection class.
The positive feedback we received from the factory employees after the Alfa Laval – Service Center lighting project, in which we also carried out the assembly process, proved that we had put forward a correct project process.
